چکیده

The astrophysical origins of ∼3 nm-diameter meteoritic nanodiamonds can be inferred from the ratio of C/ C 12 13 . It is essential to achieve high spatial and mass resolving power and minimize all sources of signal loss in order to obtain statistically significant measurements. We conducted atom-probe tomography on meteoritic nanodiamonds embedded between layers of Pt. We describe sample preparation, atom-probe tomography analysis, 3D reconstruction, and bias correction. We present new data from meteoritic nanodiamonds and terrestrial standards and discuss methods to correct isotopic measurements made with the atom-probe tomograph. & 2015 Elsevier B.V. Atom-probe analyses of nanodiamonds from Allende

Atom-probe tomography (APT) is currently the only analytical technique that, due to its spatial resolution and detection efficiency, has the potential to measure the carbon isotope ratios of individual nanodiamonds. We describe three different sample preparation protocols that we developed for the APT analysis of meteoritic nanodiamonds at sub-nm resolution and present carbon isotope peak ratio...

Determination of Γ’site Occupancies in Nickel Superalloys Using Atom Probe Tomography and X-ray Diffraction (preprint)

Rene88 samples were investigated using atom probe tomography and x-ray diffraction using a monochromated synchrotron beam with different energy values to determine the preferred site occupancy of various alloying elements within the ordered γ’ precipitates. Samples were solutionized and cooled at 24 degree C/min with subsequent aging at 760 degrees C. The synchrotron-based x-ray diffraction res...

Using Boehmite Nanoparticles as an Undercoat, and Riboflavin as a Redox Probe for Immunosensor Designing: Ultrasensitive Detection of Hepatitis C Virus Core Antigen

In this study a label-free electrochemical Immunosensor for ultrasensitive detection of Hepatitis C virus core antigen in serum samples was fabricated by using a simple approach. In this method a low-cost and sensitive immunosensor was fabricated based on a boehmite nanoparticles (BNPs) modified glassy carbon. The BNPs provide a specific platform with increased surface area which is capable of ...

Applying Multivariate Statistical Analysis to Atom Probe Tomography

Atom probe tomography (APT) is a powerful method for studying the microstructure and chemistry of materials at the unit-cell level [1]. Because APT produces datasets containing up to billions of atom identities, new methods of analysis are being developed to rapidly datamine information from the APT data. Spectrum imaging (SI) methods utilizing multivariate statistical analysis (MVSA) are becom...
